Description

Lancaster University is invited expressions of interest (EOI) from contractors interested in tendering for this Framework, subsequently shortlisted through this selection stage and sent the ITT to those shortlisted suppliers.

This is a framework contract for minor electrical services works split into two lots: Lot 1 Electrical Installations and Associated Services; and Lot 2 Data Installations and Associated Services.

The majority of work will be small projects and reactive works, for which there is a mandatory SLA to adhere to. There may also be a PPM element over the course of the Framework, but this is currently managed by in-house staff.

Works can range from additional three phase supplies for lab equipment to an additional socket for a fridge in a kitchen. For data this can range from an additional data point to a foyer for an electronic screen to installation of numerous data outlets for a college open access computer suite. Combinations of installations are highly likely.

This contract will not typically include Electrical Inspection Services or Optical Fibre Installation and Splicing, as these are covered by another agreement, but Lot 2 does cover CCTV, Access Control and Security Systems installations and upgrades (excluding servicing).

The current Framework in place covers both the above types of installation with generally 60% of jobs being around £1k and 40% ranging from £1k to £10k. 45% of works currently commissioned are electrical only, 25% data only and 30% are a combination of the two. Where a combination of data and electrical installations are required, the works would be awarded to those suppliers on Lot 2. Data Installation.
