DN Colleges contract for The design and partial refurbishment of the North Lindsey Alan Jackson and John Oddell Buildings including but not limited to the following packages; electrical, lighting, data, AV, heating, fire detection, plumbing, floor finishes, wall finishes, ceiling finishes, partitions (stud and glazed), bespoke joinery, acoustic booth solutions, kitchen fitting as detailed within the Employer's Requirements. The project also includes the design and build of both ground source heat pumps and photovoltaic renewable solutions\

The swimming pool roof is part of the Waterside Farm Leisure Centre building and is located on the Western end of the building (the other roofs are not part of this Solar PV installation scheme). The Leisure Centre is part of the Waterside Farm Site, surrounded by service roads, sports fields, and parking areas. The swimming pool building is adjacent to the nearby St John Ambulance building, the A1 Motorbike training area to the south, and the Canvey Miniature Railway to the northwest. The B1014 Somnes Avenue and the A130 Canvey Road border the site boundaries. Know hazards associated with the works include (but are not limited); •Working at height [upon the roof/scaffold], risk of falls, •Working on a roof deck [above the swimming pool], •Dropping materials and tools from height. •Unauthorised access and the risk of vandalism •Vehicular access risk of collision, deliveries and access through the Waterside Farm LC site and carpark •Scaffold erection/removal and risk of collapse & risk of obstructing emergency routes from the Leisure Centre •The Scaffold design, by placing loads on the existing building •Risk of damage to the existing external M&E Plant and equipment to the western side elevation located on the adjacent flat roof.)
