Description
Haddenham is a large village which has a number of different areas which make up the identity of the village. These include conservation areas, commercial premises and residential. Haddenham has been designated a settlement area by the government and is currently undergoing a scheme of expansion with the building of 1000 new homes over the next five years. Haddenham Parish Council took responsibility for the ownership and maintenance of the footway street lights over fifty years ago. Some of the original lights are between 50 to 40 years old. Since this time, the Council has undertaken a program of maintenance and replacement when necessary. There are currently 219 street lights of which the majority are mounted onto columns, with some single units attached to telegraph poles. We do have some specialist vintage columns / lanterns which are situated in our conservation areas. As detailed within our Street Light Policy, the Council is adopting new street lights when residential developments have been completed. With the increase of homes in Haddenham, the number of street lights we own and maintain will continue to increase. The Contractor would be responsible for the repair of the street lights and replace any faulty lanterns and columns under direction of the Council. Full Tender Documents are attached. Tenders will be received by email: [email protected] or by sealed envelope by Midday 3rd December 2021.
