Description

WORK TO BE UNDERTAKEN AT FLEET AIR ARM MUSEUM - B3151, RNAS YEOVILTON, BA22 8HT.

To deliver a full upgrade of the Aircraft Carrier Experience at the Fleet Air Arm Museum. The upgraded experience will immerse our visitors in the sights, sounds and smells of carrier flight and in the complexity of carrier operations. It will connect the heyday of jet aviation to the operations and deployment of the Queen Elizabeth Class carriers and F35 aircraft which will be the heart of the Royal Navy from [2021] onwards. The upgrade will create a new immersive experience which blends the best of digital technology with the scale of a carrier flight deck and our incredible aircraft. It will showcase the Fleet Air Arm's 'Air Power from the Sea' in past, present and future. It will provide an inspirational, unforgettable visitor experience.

To complete works and re-open the new updated experience in August 2022, all work complete by 31st July 2022.

To refurbish and re-interpret the Arrival Corridor, Helicopter Transfer, Island Tour and Experience Chamber. Our expectation is that development will be within the current layout and fabric of the existing buildings / displays. We see a re-purposing of AV and display material on the Flight Deck although don't consider this area to be the main focus of the upgrade. However, submissions showing innovation and challenge to this presumption are welcome.

Basis of Invitation: You are invited to submit a Tender, in accordance with the following Conditions, for the execution of the works detailed in this Tender document.
