Description

The Council wishes to invite tenders for the supply of services for voids cleaning and clearing as follows - 
•	Void clearance and cleaning services;
•	Full garden clearances; 
•	Clearance services to adjacent areas e.g. alleyways etc.
•	Garden tidying e.g. strimming (see Definitions and KPIs document);
•	Ad hoc clearances on estates following fly tipping and illegal bonfires as and when required and;  
•	Ad hoc clearance and cleaning services at tenanted properties
•	Out-of-hours spillages and chemical clean ups.

The scope of the services will include but not be limited to pre-cleans; carpet cleans, final valets, deep cleans and the removal of rubbish, hoarded items, needle sweeps and WEE electrical goods

Orders may be placed for works to individual properties, gardens and communal areas.  In the majority of cases the properties will be unoccupied.  However, there may be circumstances where properties are occupied, for example multiple problems and/or hoarding by a tenant still in residence.

The aims/objectives/service priorities of this contract are:
•	minimise loss of rental income by reducing the length of time Properties remain without Residents;
•	ensure a consistently high standard of quality in maintaining Newark and Sherwood District Council Properties; 
•	use a skilled and competent Providers who is trustworthy and reliable, and able to meet Newark and Sherwood District Councils specified requirements within the timescales set;
•	enable a prompt response to Works requests and completion of the Works on time, to an optimum standard, providing best value for money;
•	develop standardised and streamlined processes; and
•	Ensure more efficient and effective use of resource.

Please note that this is a three year contract, with the option of a one-off extension of two years subject to agreement.

Birmingham City Council (the Council) is seeking to appoint an organisation for the provision of 24/7 emergency works contract to aid Birmingham City Council in fulfilling its responsibilities under the various ‘Unsecure’ and ‘Dangerous Structures’ legislation. The contract will commence on 01 January 2026 and the contract duration will be 36 months. Overview of the Opportunity The successful Contractor will be expected to provide a single point of contact for the attending Building Surveyor/Council Officer to call upon whilst out on an emergency call-out. The Contractor is expected to bring their expertise to the contract and assist the Building Surveyor/Council Officer to determine the ‘best fit’ solution to the problem at hand. The Contractor will then organise relevant labour, materials and plant to perform the works as required by the Building Surveyor/Council Officer. The Contractor will attend site and liaise with all relevant parties to bring a satisfactory conclusion to the event. The type of work the Contractor will encounter cannot be predetermined due to the nature of emergency circumstances but could include: i) complete or partial demolition of domestic, commercial or Council owned property ii) security works to a building to prevent unauthorised access iii) assisting the emergency services to render safe a building affected by fire or an accident iv) providing temporary support to a building to allow further works at a later date, possibly by another contractor v) providing temporary barriers around dangerous/unstable buildings/structures to keep the general public at a safe distance The works will be carried out on both private and council owned land/buildings/structures. The successful Contractor will provide Acivico (Building Consultancy) Ltd, with at least two contacts who can be reached 24 hours per day throughout the year. The contact or his nominated representative will then be required to be at the site within one hour to assist the attending Building Surveyor/Council Officer and assess the level of resources necessary to undertake the works. The successful Contractor must then mobilise his resources and be prepared to commence any necessary work within one hour of the contact representative arriving on site. The Council will be using its free to use e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and potential suppliers must register with the system to be able to express an interest.
