Description

The London Borough of Barnet has opened the opportunity to bid for provision of services for its "Healthy Early Years and Healthy Schools Programme". This service aims to support Barnet's Healthy Schools and Healthy Early Years programmes alongside supporting PSHE delivery within Primary and Secondary Schools. There is considerable evidence that addressing health issues in children before they start school and throughout their school lives has significant long-term health, mental health, academic and social benefits to those children and their families. Health education and health improvement, improving the health literacy of our communities, are critical to addressing health inequalities and increasing the life chances of children and young people. This has become even more important as we recognise the importance of addressing the emerging issues resulting from the COVID-19 Pandemic, supporting children and young people regain lost learning, socialisation and build their emotional resilience.
