RISE-EDS (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope) is the world's first laboratory-based equipment for multimodal correlative microscopy and spectroscopy. It is a full integration of a (i) WITec 3D confocal Raman microscope into a (ii) ZEISS field emission Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) that is enabled with a (iii) ZEISS Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) detector, as one analytical suite.

Based on the below factors there are currently only one supplier in the market that can supply the RISE-EDS equipment and meet all our requirements;

Carl Zeiss Ltd is the only supplier that can provide this unique technology; a fully correlated imaging solution that incorporates light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and confocal Raman mapping.

Carl Zeiss Ltd owns the patent for the ZEN Connect correlative software and the ZEN Intellesis software for machine learning-based segmentation of image data. These are the only commercial correlative and segmentation tools and are only available from Carl Zeiss Ltd.
