Description

On Sunday 16th February 2020, Storm Dennis caused the Llanwonno Upper Tip to fail above the village of Tylorstown. Approximately 60,000m³ of material slipped down the valley, filling the valley bottom and diverting the course of the Afon Rhondda Fach.
Emergency works (referred to as Phases 1, 2 and 3 of the Tylorstown Landslip scheme) have been undertaken to remove the slipped material from the river and valley bottom.
Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is now proposing essential stabilisation and remediation works to ensure the colliery material within the Llanwonno Upper Tip is made safe, preventing future landslips such as the one that occurred in February 2020 and demonstrating that the relocated and remaining in-situ material can be regenerated for a beneficial end-use. To achieve this, the majority of the colliery material at Llanwonno Upper Tip will be excavated and transported along a haul road to a new location, referred to as the ‘Receptor Site’, next to Old Smokey.

Welsh Procurement Alliance seek to establish a framework for the construction of new build housing projects. The works (including associated services and/or supplies) to be delivered include the development of new build housing projects, including ‘Housing’ (housing, bungalows, flats, apartments etc.) and ‘Accommodation’ (sheltered accommodation, care homes, extra care e.g. dementia) student accommodation etc. The proposed scope would also include, but not limited to: - Conversions to form new dwellings, flats, bedsits or any other form of accommodation. - Any joint ventures, partnerships and such like between contracting authorities and principal contractors. - Package deals between contracting authorities and contractors. - The provision of community facilities as part of a wide construction project. E.g. parks, playgrounds, community centres, schools etc. - The provision of commercial units as part of a construction project. E.g. Where a client is proposing a mixed use scheme of domestic dwellings and commercial premises. - Private housing, including shared ownership, homes for sale etc. - Demolition, Decontamination and Associated Site Enabling Works Demolition, Decontamination and Associated Site Enabling Works The scope for this workstream will include the demolition, clearance and decontamination of a construction site to enable further development works to commence. Civil Engineering Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) Scotland - projects up to 5 million GBP

The Scottish Ministers have been working with internal and external stakeholders on the development of a Scottish collaborative Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for Civil Engineering projects up to 5 million GBP for use across the Scottish public sector. To be considered, economic operators are required to complete the Single Procurement Document (SPD) including the Financial Standing Workbook, the Technical and Professional Ability Workbook (including Core Terms Acceptance and SOC Check) and the Environmental Management and Climate Change Plan Form in accordance with the Contract Notice and the accompanying Instructions document. Economic operators will be evaluated in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations (Scotland) 2015, on the basis of the information provided within their application. A Price Quality Ratio (PQR) of 30% Price and 70% Quality (with a range of +/-20%) will be undertaken for all calls for competition under this DPS.
