DAERA wishes to establish a contract for the provision of Veterinary cover and Veterinary supplies for AFBI Hillsborough and Loughall, CAFRE Greenmount Antrim, Hill Farm Centre Glenwherry and Enniskillen Campuses. The Contract will be separated into 4 lots: Lot 1 – Greenmount, Antrim (Dairy Centre, the Beef and Sheep Centre) Lot 2 – Hill Farm Centre, Glenwherry (Suckler cow and sheep enterprises) Lot 3 – Enniskillen – (Equine enterprises) Lot 4 – AFBI Hillsborough and Loughgall Centres

BADGER FOUND DEAD AND ANY OTHER WILDLIFE SPECIES C179/2025/2026

The Client wishes to procure a 2 year with an optional extension period of an additional one plus one year to be determined by the client (a maximum contract period of 4 years including the optional extension period), for the Badger Found Dead and any other Wildlife Species Contract. The value of the Contract is expected within the range of £750,000-£880,000 excluding VAT for the entire 4 year period. The successful Bidder must provide a fully managed service delivery to undertake all activities relating to this Contract- Collect, arrange transportation and undertake a post mortem of badgers found dead and other wildlife species as required. The Bidder must also promote this service to the public and the farming industry throughout the contract duration. The aim and objective of this service is to provide information on the prevalence of Mycobacterium bovis (M.bovis) infection in badgers by means of a post mortem examination and submission of samples for culture, molecular typing and histological examination. This data and analysis will provide vital information on the prevalence of (M bovis) infection in badgers and on genotypes present. The results of the contract will be used to investigate the relationship between (M.bovis) infection in badgers and cattle and will assist in the formulation of policy at both local and national levels. It will also add to epidemiological reporting and provide evidence to case vets.
