Description

Wealden District Council (the Council) is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified landscape consultancy to undertake a number of landscape evidence base studies to inform the new Local Plan, including to assist in decisions on the allocation of specific areas and/or sites for development. This assessment work shall also inform the Sustainability Appraisal of the Local Plan; Development Management decisions on planning applications and assist in the production of Neighbourhood Plans. The work to be undertaken is in the form of 5 inter-related projects:•	1: An up-to-date Landscape Character Assessment; •	2: A Landscape Sensitivity Assessment for Residential and Employment Development;•	3: A Landscape and Visual Assessment of Areas for new settlements and large urban extensions;•	4: A Landscape Sensitivity Assessment for Wind Turbine and Solar PV Development.•	5: A Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment of proposed allocation sites within the High Weald AONB.

Funding model development for beaver management partnerships

EBC is currently in the process of agreeing Heads of Terms for the acquisition of the land at Field Common Farm site. However, prior to a more detailed contract being agreed, EBC is undertaking its due diligence and, given the sites' land use history, requires site investigations to understand the ground conditions in terms of land contamination and cost implications thereof, of a proposed SANG at this Site. EBC is therefore seeking to appoint suitably qualified consultants: o To undertake a due diligence site investigation to understand and report on the ground conditions in terms of land contamination on a proposed SANG at the Site. o To understand and report on the risks to future site users and other identified receptors posed by land contamination (soil, gas / vapour and Controlled Water, where appropriate) on the subject Site. o Where unacceptable risks are identified, to provide outline information (with cost estimate) for remediation measures necessary to ensure the final development is safe and suitable for its intended use. ENPA0016-24 Provision of Carbon Baseline Audit and Assessment

The Reviving Exmoor's Heartlands (REH) project is a round 2 Landscape Recovery project that has been approved for a two year development phase, starting in April 2024. The project aims to restore Exmoor's central moorlands to a thriving ecological state with good habitat connectivity to the wider landscape, supported by viable farming. The project area spans approximately 12,000 hectares made up of a cluster of over 20 upland farms and moorland landholdings including large areas of common land, supporting mainly extensive cattle and sheep rearing. A specialist contractor is required to provide a baseline assessment of carbon storage and greenhouse gas emissions in the project area, and to estimate potential carbon credits from proposed restoration works and land management/land use changes (e.g. woodland creation). Essentially, we need a baseline of what carbon is currently being emitted / stored / sequestered, and then what the carbon benefit of different land management would be, that can potentially be used to reduce or offset emissions, or to sell as carbon credits. The successful contractor will work closely with the Reviving Exmoor's Heartlands team and provide monthly progress reports to the Project Manager. It is expected that the contractor will have regular contact with the Project Manager and have additional support from other ENPA teams as needed to build on knowledge as and when required. There will be an initial set up meeting and two or more project meetings with Exmoor National Park Authority and the REH steering group.
