The Service successfully leads the operational delivery of fire and rescue services such as public protection, fire and other emergency prevention, operational response and resilience. Our stations, staff and appliances are strategically placed across Tyne and Wear to ensure efficient and effective response to fires and other emergencies. Appliances work across station areas and can be mobilised whilst away from their home station. We also have robust arrangements with neighbouring services to enable additional support during major emergencies. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service (TWFRS) is dedicated to delivering high-quality services that meet the changing needs of local communities. Central to this commitment is the provision of effective training and development, ensuring that operational teams are well-prepared, knowledgeable, and confident in their roles. To successfully implement training programmes across the Service, TWFRS recognises the importance of upskilling its internal trainer(s). This will enable them to deliver consistent, high-quality training to the wider operational workforce. By investing in the development of its trainers, TWFRS aims to establish a strong foundation for the effective sharing of knowledge and best practice throughout the organisation. This opportunity invites suitably qualified and experienced providers to support TWFRS in delivering targeted training solutions that will enhance the skills and capabilities of its trainer. The appointed provider(s) will play a vital role in helping TWFRS maintain its high standards of service delivery and community safety through structured and sustainable workforce development. The courses TWFRS are looking to procure are: Lot 1- Compartment Fire Behaviour Training Instructor (CFBTI) Lot 2- Breathing Apparatus Instructor (BAi) Lot 3- Road Traffic Collision Instructor (RTCi) Lot 4- Tactical Ventilation Instructor (TVi)
