Description

NEUPC awards a framework for Sustainable Furniture Solutions, and associated services, across a range of sustainable furniture solutions as described in the Lots section of this Notice.
The framework agreement is available for use by the listed consortia and their respective memberships, regardless of whether or not those members are defined as contracting authorities for the purpose of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
Membership of the consortia may be subject to change due to strategic realignment or the inclusion of new members.
Members' end user locations include but are not limited to:
- On campus 
- Halls of residence 
- Remote working 
- Remote campus 
- Pop-up and subsidiary locations
The main scope of the framework is defined by three lots:

Lot 3 - Specialist

Supply of high density stacking chairs and dolly/carts

1. General Description • The high-density stacking chair shall be designed for public and commercial environments such as conference rooms, event halls, and multi-use facilities. The chair must be ergonomic, durable, space-efficient, and easy to handle during setup and storage. • 400 chairs are required as well as the necessary equipment to move 300 of these chairs. 2. Performance and Durability 3.1 Durability • Must comply with or exceed BS EN16139:2013 level 2: severe contract use 3.2 Linking • The chairs should be able to be linked. 3.3 Floor Protection • Non-marking glides or caps on legs. • Optional ganging clips for connecting multiple chairs securely. 3.4 Stacking Capability • Must stack a minimum of 20 chairs high on a dolly/cart. • Without dolly: minimum of 8-10 chairs high, stable and secure. • Chairs must not damage each other during stacking. 4. Portability and Handling • Chairs must be easy to lift and move by one person. • Stack cart/dolly must be compatible and available as an accessory. 5. Safety and Compliance • Compliant with relevant fire and safety standards. • No sharp edges or pinch points. • Materials must be recyclable or meet sustainability criteria where possible. 6. Warranty • Minimum 3-year warranty covering materials and workmanship under normal public use. 7. Other considerations • The Council will require to see a sample of the proposed chair option(s) to test their comfort. 8. Date of supply • The chairs need to be supplied to site in the month of August, 2025.
