Description

Humberside Police (HP) have awarded a contract to a service provider to collect and kennel dogs upon their instruction that are a banned breed, dangerous or seized for welfare reasons within the Humberside region.  This service is will be provided 24/7/365(6) days a year with the provision of a minimum of 25 kennels (with potential access to further kennels should the need arise).
The collection of a dog will be undertaken within a maximum of 90 minutes following notification from Humberside Police.  The Service Provider will provide adequate and secure shelter, food and healthcare sufficient to meet the needs of the animal in line with the animal welfare act for animals placed in the custody of the kennel; this can be for long periods of time.

The provision of Kennelling Services will be split into three lots. Provision of stray dogs service in H&F

Procurement for the provision of a comprehensive stray dog service between 01/05/2026 - 30/04/2028, with the option of two additional discretionary one year extensions until 30/04/2030. The service includes collection of stray dogs reported within the borough in accordance with all relevant legislation and statutory duties, kennelling and care to meet welfare standards and legal requirements, and ensuring staff are suitably trained and equipped for safe handling of dogs. Services must comply with the Council’s Service Specification and all statutory obligations, with kennelling facilities meeting welfare standards and licensing requirements. Timely reporting and adherence to agreed service levels are essential throughout the contract period. Estimated annual volumes will be provided in the tender documents.
