Description

The award is for Supply of cold static Perfusion Fluid solution and it is split into lots as follows:
Lot 1 - Supply of cold static perfusion fluid UW type solution
Lot 2 - Supply of cold static fluid for lung perfusion (Perfadex type solution, or equivalent).
Lot 3 - Supply of cold static perfusion fluid solution other than UW type or Perfadex Plus type

Framework Agreement for the Supply of Cold Static Perfusion Fluid Solutions

NHS Blood and Transplant seeks to establish a Framework Agreement for the Supply of Cold Static Perfusion Fluid: Lot 1: UW Solution Lot 2: HTK Solution Lot 3 Perfadex Type Solution. Cold Static Perfusion Fluid intended for flushing and cold storage of organs at the time of their removal from the organ donor in preparation for storage, transportation and eventual transplantation into a donor recipient. Please note: Machine Perfusion fluid is not required. NHSBT is the commissioner responsible for providing funding, infrastructure, clinical guidance and standards to the National Organ Retrieval Service (NORS). NORS is comprised of several organ retrieval centres in England, Wales and Scotland, who are responsible for sending a retrieval team travelling to any organ donor in the UK to retrieve organs for transplantation. The tender is being carried out by the Authority to establish a Framework against which the NORS Centres will call-off their requirements directly with the Suppliers. Supply and Support of Complete Antibody Quantification Testing Systems

The RCI laboratories in NHSBT provide a range of reference services to hospitals, focusing on ensuring safe and effective blood transfusions by diagnosing and managing complex issues related to red blood cells. Antibody (anti-D and anti-c) quantification is a vital component of RCI service, predominantly providing service to NHS hospitals. The test results play a crucial role in guiding the clinical management of alloimmunised ANC patients’ by predicting the risk of haemolytic disease of the foetus and newborn and triggering referral to an FMU specialist, In addition, quantification is used to assist in the laboratory differentiation of immune anti-D from passive anti-D Ig This specialised test conducted in 4 of the 7 RCI laboratories (namely Birmingham, Colindale, Liverpool and Newcastle). RCI processes approximately 10,000 tests annually. The test is vital for identifying levels of alloimmune and prophylactic anti-D, as well as alloimmune anti-c in obstetric and other referrals.
