Ham Street Woods NNR Tree Safety Works 2024 2025

We have had a Tree safety survey completed for Ham street Woods NNR. This has highlighted 54 dangerous trees that will need a range of works , from felling to pollarding to monolithing and pruning. Some Ash Trees are present so not al trees can be climbed and will need to use a MEWP. The woods are 10 miles south of Ashford in Kent and have accessible tracks. The works may take around 2 weeks and must be completed between November 2024 and the 28th of February 2025. Re-Release - Provision of Arboriculture and Grounds Maintenance Related Services for Mid Ulster District Council

Mid Ulster District Council, (MUDC) manage a wide and diverse estate with varying levels of tree cover at its facilities. The Neighbourhood services department within the Council are responsible for tree surgery and other tree maintenance throughout its wider estate of more than 280 sites across the district. The Council seek to appoint suitably qualified, competent and experienced contractor/s to carry out tree surgery and maintenance works on its behalf. The Council facilities will include offices, leisure centres, forest park recreation facilities, play areas, car parks, sports pitches, active cemeteries, old burial grounds etc.

Tree Planting and Maintenance

The University is looking to contract approximately 250ha of planting accross two new woodland creation sites at Sherrifmuir and the Pentlands. This will comprise of a mix of majority broadleaf planting with a smaller element of conifer as well as vole guard installation and possible fertiliser application, with planting to begin February 2025. Further to initial planting, the University is seeking to contract beat up planting and maintenance for the five years following the initial establishment. The majority of planting will take place on prepared and mounded ground with a smaller element of flat planting/screefing being required.
