Mid Sussex District Council - Stray Dog Collection and Kennelling Service

Mid Sussex District Council (“the Council”) is inviting bids from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for the collection and accommodation of stray dogs that are found within the area of Mid Sussex, West Sussex. The contract is scheduled to start on the 8th June 2025 for a period of three years ending on the 7th June 2028, with an option to extend for a further one year period subject to performance and the absolute discretion of the Council. The Commencement Date for the delivery of the services is scheduled to be on Sunday 08 June 2025 at 00:00 hours. The Contract will be awarded for a period of 3 years until Wednesday 07 June 2028 with an option to extend for a further 1 year period subject to performance and the absolute discretion of the Council. The Council is procuring this Contract following a tender process under the Council’s Procurement Code and will be awarding one Contract for the provision of all services detailed within the Specification. The Council is seeking to Contract with an organisation that will manage the Services to the highest levels of satisfaction, professional standards and cost effectiveness. The Contractor will be expected to deliver improvements to service delivery and value for money over the life of the Contract. The Council has a statutory duty to hold any stray dogs for a minimum of 7 days. The number of dogs can vary and the majority of the dogs are claimed with the 7 days. The service provided by the successful Service Provider will be in accordance with the specification and will be available 7 days each week, 24 hours per day throughout each year of the contract.
