Description

GTCNI rely on the current IT system to support the function of registration. There are currently over 68,000 teacher records held on the system, of which approximately 26,350 are active. All registered individuals have access to the system along with certain employer organisations such as schools and members of the public. Non-active records are reviewed and maintained under GTCNI’s policies, for example procedures for Reinstating a Teacher. Approximately 500 NI students and 500 applicants outside NI are added to the system each year. This procurement is necessary to replace the existing IT solution which has reached end of life and will no longer be fully supported and to provide a new system that will: • Enable the GTCNI to continue to meet its current obligations with regard to the registration and regulation of teachers as set out in the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1998, Articles 34-41 as amended by the 2003 and 2006 Education (NI) Orders • Allow the GTCNI to respond to current and future business needs • Facilitate a more efficient and proactive role in improving service • Maintain public confidence and trust in the profession. More details of the current solution are included in the Specification Schedule in addition to the detailed requirements for this new solution.

ICT Managed Service

North Star Housing Group is seeking to appoint a Managed Service Partner (MSP) to provide and support core ICT infrastructure and networks. North Star's current managed service contract terminates in mid-February 2026 and its architecture was designed around a legacy co-location data centre and MPLS network design. Over recent years, North Star has adopted a "Cloud First" strategy for the delivery of its ICT services and many of its legacy systems are now delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. A small number of applications remain to be hosted by the appointed MSP, and these will potentially further reduce during the contract term as further hosted applications are replaced by SaaS solutions The MSP will be required to support North Star's delivery of services to its headquarters in Stockton-on-Tees and eight smaller sites in the region, although it is envisaged that the MSP will deliver a significant amount of service remotely and limited attendance at North Star premises may be required. Note that visits to staff homes or partner locations will not be required and that supply, support and logistics for end-user devices is not in-scope. The scope of the MSP contract includes: • Strategic Architecture • Hosting • Wide Area Networks • Local Wired and Wireless Area Networks • Second- and Third-Line Service Desk • Security including Firewall Management • Patching • Backup • Business Continuity • End-User Device Services (limited to provision of thin-client desktop, e.g. Citrix) • Account Management • Monthly Service Reports and Meetings • Onboarding of Services • Rate Card for ad-hoc work

UKRI-5012 - SDR UK DATA CATALOGUE (OPEN)

The Smart Data Research UK programme (SDR UK) is a UKRI initiative delivered by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) designed to harness the potential of new forms of data for research and innovation and addressing social and economic challenges. www.sdruk.ukri.org Smart data includes data from mobile apps, navigation systems, social media, sensors in consumer devices, and digital transactions, encompassing information about individuals, organisations, systems, or the physical environment. This type of data can allow researchers to identify and understand patterns in human behaviour, such as spending habits, mobility, social interactions and health practices. This can be used to address social and economic challenges by informing new policies or practices and contributing to new innovations which deliver social and economic benefits.  The SDR UK programme is being delivered through a centrally coordinated, federated infrastructure comprising:   •A Strategic Hub team, embedded in ESRC, providing leadership, coordination and oversight, a programme of citizen-centred involvement and engagement and an ethics and legal resource to provide support and assurance to the public, researchers and partners on responsible research. •Federated data services cultivating long-term partnerships with data owners, providing curated access to data for priority areas of research interest. The ESRC will work iteratively to develop integration across the data infrastructures, working towards a federated model.  Six data services have been appointed, each with a specific thematic focus, which will acquire, steward and enable safe access to smart data over the period 2024 – 2029.
