Description

Cambridge City Council wish to appoint a Contractor to develop ten sites for residential accommodation and redevelop one further site for community use in the Cambridge area. The intention is to develop a pipeline of projects for the selected Contractor to work with appointed design teams to develop plans, submit drawings for planning approval and to build out schemes.
The council is looking for a contractor that wants to be part of the Council’s ambition to deliver community centres, council rented homes, accessibility and sustainability. The pipeline includes two mobility accessible bungalows, c.15 Net Zero Carbon homes across two sites, and c. 30 passivhaus homes across 8 sites and a refurbishment of a community centre.
Contractors are welcome to bid for Lot 1 and/or Lot 2. Lot 1 is split into a, b, c to highlight the pipeline, target programme and tender requirements, but is a single Lot.

This DPS is organised into 7 Categories covering the types of measures and installations required: • Category 1: Solid Wall Insulation (external &/or internal) • Category 2: Park Homes Insulation • Category 3: Multiple Insulation Measures (combinations of CWI, SWI (Int or Ext), FI, RIR, LI, Ventilation, Glazing, Doors) • Category 4: MCS measures and Integrated Systems (Solar PV, battery storage, heat pump (AHSP / GSHP etc), Solar Thermal, Ventilation) • Category 5: Shared systems (communal heating, shared solar and ground heat loops) • Category 6: Low-Cost Measures (Low energy lightbulbs, Hot water tank insulation jacket, Draughtproofing and Heating controls / Smart Heating Controls) • Category 7: Whole House Retrofit Solutions (combinations of any measures) In addition, call-offs may include associated works and services either where these are necessary to undertake the works that are central to the call-off (e.g. installing scaffolding for working at heights), or where it would be beneficial to the project to have additional works or services carried out by the same contractor and the associated works or services constitute a small part of the overall call-off. JV North Contractors Framework

JV North is intending to establish a framework for use by its current and future members for the provision of new build houses, flats and bungalows. The framework may also be used for conversion of existing buildings and/or remodelling works with an estimated value of up to £1,000,000. The predominant type of construction work will be affordable new build houses, flats and bungalows although occasionally some conversion / remodelling contracts may be included. Construction works may also include, associated public realm works, and infrastructure together with buildings associated with sustainable neighbourhoods and may include commercial small-scale enterprise and regeneration. These will only be required as part of the overall residential development opportunity. The primary purpose of this Framework is new build housing.
