Description

The Authority has an operational requirement to provide temporary accommodation and essential veterinary care for dogs seized under the Dangerous Dogs Act (1991) and in respect of animal welfare offences.
As a result of a recent tender where by one successful supplier has been awarded The Authority is seeking to appoint a number of kennels for the remaining kennelling capacity for the Provision of Kennelling and Veterinary treatment of Seized Dogs
The Contract shall run co terminus to an existing contract and will be for an initial period of 18 months with a commencement date of 1st July 2022 to the 31st December 2023, with the option to extend for up to a further period of 36 months subject to satisfactory performance.

The Council wishes to invite tenders for the supply of services in respect of the stray dog kenneling service required by Bassetlaw District Council and Newark & Sherwood District Councils (The Councils). The service priorities of this contract are: • to provide kenneling facilities for the kenneling of stray dogs which have either been either collected by the Councils Dog Control Services or found by members of the public within the districts of the Councils. • the facility to drop off stray dogs should include out of hours periods including all times either council office is closed, included but not limited to weekends, bank holidays and overnight (5pm to 9am) weekdays. Any proposed extension is subject to satisfactory performance by the supplier and in accordance with the Council's business requirements. Any proposed extension to the contract will be agreed in writing between the Council and the supplier. The budget for this contract is £118,000 in its entirety (exclusive of VAT). Please Note: The Council reserves the right to reject any submissions that are over budget without further evaluation.
