Description

The procurement of the operation of Registered Local Bus services in the local authority areas of Tyne and Wear with effect from 24th July 2022. It is anticipated that subsequent contracts will be for a term of up to 10 months. The contracts will be tendered on the basis of operating specified timetables. The vehicles required will be low floor, easy access, meeting a minimum of Euro 5 engine emission standards and meeting the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 with a minimum capacity of 16,23, 36, 49 & 60 passengers depending on the route involved.

The objective of this procurement exercise is to appoint suppliers who can deliver high-quality, value-for-money services while ensuring long-term sustainability, safety, and reliability. The Council is particularly interested in solutions that: • Improve accessibility and inclusivity for all passengers. • Demonstrate innovation, efficiency, and resilience. • Deliver measurable social and environmental value to the community.
