North Northamptonshire Council - Rushden Swimming Pool Boiler Replacement

North Northamptonshire Council have been awarded a grant from the Swimming Pool Support Fund, which is dedicated to supporting public leisure swimming pools following a period where pools are facing significant operating challenges due to Covid and increased energy pressure. The aim is to reduce energy consumption, running costs and to reduce the carbon output of this facility. This will assist with minimising the risk of closure to the public swimming pool provision across the North and Rushden Swimming Pool has been identified as as area that requires attention. Freedom Leisure operates the Rushden Splash Leisure Pool in partnership with North Northamptonshire Council. The swimming pool is 33 years old and it is understood that the existing gas boilers are the original ones when the building was first opened. As the current boilers are now obsolete and parts are now becoming increasingly hard to obtain, the Council, would like to replace the two existing gas boilers. The scope of works includes isolating, disconnecting, and removing existing gas boilers, before supplying and installing new, more energy efficient, like for like gas boilers, whilst ensuring the provision of a matched output.
