NHSBT uses Platelet Additive Solution (PAS) for the suspension and storage of pooled platelets, and Saline Adenine Glucose Mannitol (SAGM) solution in the manufacture and storage of washed red cells.<br/><br/>The framework agreement was awarded to MacoParma after an OJEU open tender exercise on behalf of selected beneficiaries (blood services from the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand).
